School & Youth Sustainability Program

Empower your students to become active leaders in the circular economy! At Zero Plastics Australia, we turn post-consumer waste into a hands-on learning experience. Our upgraded Catalyst for Change program is a comprehensive educational series designed for schools, Scout groups, and youth organizations to explore sustainability, product design, and real-world environmental entrepreneurship.

Having already inspired and educated over 8,600 students Australia-wide, we transform abstract concepts into unforgettable, practical lessons.

We offer these high-impact sessions either Face-to-Face (incursion) or via a live, interactive Zoom broadcast. Schools can book a single standalone session, or take students through the complete 3-part entrepreneurial journey.

🎓 Choose Your Learning Journey:

Session 1: The Spark & Real Change

  • The Focus: The Zero Plastics Australia story, how we started in a Ballarat workshop, and how everyday actions spark systemic environmental changes.

  • The Core Lesson: Dismantling the myth of "broken recycling" and showing students how they have immense power in their everyday choices to drive a true circular economy.

Session 2: Sustainable Design & Circular Manufacturing

  • The Focus: Moving from an idea to a physical product. We dive into product design, 3D/2D engineering concepts, mold-making, and sustainable industrial thinking.

  • The Framework: We challenge students with three critical questions to design products that help their community:

    1. What are you genuinely passionate about?

    2. Who or what in our world needs a stronger voice or more awareness?

    3. What physical product or positive affirmation can we design to support those two answers?

Session 3: Impact Tracking & Ethical Marketing

  • The Focus: How to tell an authentic story without hiding behind corporate "buzzwords" and greenwashing.

  • The Core Lesson: Students learn the importance of supply chain transparency, how to accurately track environmental impact data, and what honest, measurable change looks like in the modern business world.

⏱️ Booking Details & Perks:

  • Pricing: $25 per student, per session. (Teachers and staff attend completely free of charge!).

  • Gifts Included: Every participating student receives a 100% Recycled Custom Bag Tag to clip to their backpack, and teachers receive a premium Recycled Plastic Pen hand-pressed in our workshop as a thank-you.

  • Group Size: Minimum of 20 students per session, with no maximum limit.

  • Duration: 30–40 minutes per session of fast-paced, interactive learning + Q&A.
